The SRM (State-Run Media) was at it again. The template “key word” was repeated ad nauseum. Even on Fox News coverage, the word “survived” was pervasive. “Governor Scott Walker survived his recall election.”
Survived??? He beat his Democrat challenger Tom Barrett, by a larger margin than the real election in 2010. He beat the millions of dollars poured into the state by national unions, and the thousands of union minions bused into the state to register, vote in the election, and threaten citizens. He beat the overwhelming propaganda from the Leftist press. And the appearance of DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Bill Clinton and Jesse Jackson were of no help to the Progressives. The halls where they appeared couldn’t even be filled to half capacity. The President was a no-show.
Governor Scott Walker’s reforms have taken the state from a $3.6 billion deficit to about $1 billion surplus. Property taxes are now lower than in a decade. Teachers’ unions are saving 40%-50% on their health care/benefit expenses, since they can now shop competing plans. Some public sector unions (AFCSME and SEIU) have lost almost half of their members because now the union members have a choice: they can choose to pay dues or not, since the state no longer pays the dues directly to the unions. The state unemployment rate has dropped to less than 7%. All of this in ONE YEAR.
Of the union families in the Badger State, 38% came out for Walker… this wasn’t an exercise in “survival”. And 86%, when polled, said their minds were made up in May. This was a victory for individual liberty and a decided setback for tyranny.
Walker’s reforms have been successful. He promised to deliver and he did. He stood his ground and didn’t back down – even when the union confrontations came earlier last year. He refused to soften his stance and compromise on his plan, even under pressure from the Republican establishment to do so. He exhibited courage and defended principle and the voters in Wisconsin responded. Democrats and their union-funded money laundering operation were defeated.
The outcome of this election was a huge triumph for Wisconsin conservatives, the Tea Party movement (whose organizations and groups poured hundreds of grassroots workers into the state), and the concept of fiscally responsible government.
Governor Walker is already receiving death threats from radical leftists across the country and the SRM is spinning as fast as the White House can pump out the talking points. The Left is livid.
But Governor Walker has lifted his state out of the RED and placed it in the BLACK.
And Walker, his Wisconsin conservatives, and the Tea Party movement took a BLUE state and painted it RED.
Congrats, Gov – well done. Now send your lesson plan to the RNC and the GOP in Congress.
