The “Anti-Obama” No-Effort Victory

(The following is a continuation of a conversation I had with a GOP member and Tea Party movement supporter, worried about the lukewarm support of GOP candidates by grassroots conservatives… and therefore worried about wins today, 11/4/14.) The Tea Party movement is composed of grassroots conservatives; some Republicans, many not. The way the Republican establishment has [...]

Union failure

Last week the news slipped out — the South had been saved!

It appears the UAW has failed in its efforts to unionize the Volkswagen assembly plant in Chattanooga, TN.

The plant workers won: 712 said no and 626 said yes. Sanity prevailed.

Now orders for more vehicles can flow, keeping the plant open and [...]

Selling sovereignty

These 15 Republicans voted with the open borders lobby today, in favor of amnesty: Corker, Ayotte, Chiesa, Collins, Flake, Graham, Hatch, Heller, Hoeven, Kirk, McCain, Murkowski, Rubio, Alexander and Wicker.

Only Susan Collins (R-ME) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) are up for re-election in 2014, and must be disposed of at the polls. The rest will [...]

Clues for the Republican Party

Clues for the Republican Party, particularly those party types, pundits, and consultants urging them to “make the tent bigger” or concentrate on “targeted demographics”:

Total Latino votes in the November, 2012 election amounted to slightly over 7% of the total cast. The Democrat Party received 71% of these.

Evangelical votes in the 2012 election, however, [...]

Celebrating Patriots’ Day

On April 19, 1775, the day after Paul Revere made his famous “midnight ride”, dozens of Patriots and Minutemen gathered at Lexington and Concord to exchange fire with British Regulars. That opening volley, discharged for American Liberty, has been termed the “Shot Heard `Round the World”.

Today, we honor their sacrifice for our liberty, and [...]

Patriotism suddenly breaks out…

…And the State-Run Media is nearly unanimously shocked at the spontaneity exhibited by the crowd at a hockey game, judging by comments in the press.

After the barbaric attack on the onlookers at the Boston Marathon last Monday, where three attendees were killed and 176 wounded, thousands of folks in Bean Town came together to pull their spirits upward from [...]

Tax Day – 100 years of insidious growth

Don’t light any candles, even though today marks the 100th anniversary of the insidious federal income tax. There’s no reason to celebrate.

Since its birth in 1913, this horrendous idea has continued to grow in scope and complexity. Now a century later, its progressive nature will continue to hit hardworking American taxpayers, hard. This year, the federal government will suck $2.7 TRILLION out [...]

Radical Progressives in the Senate

It was sickening to hear today that Democrats in the Senate have put a “hold” on a resolution honoring the memory of Baroness Margaret Thatcher, Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1979-1990. Lady Thatcher, with President Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II, are widely credited for bringing down the Soviet Union, “without a single shot fired” as [...]

Margaret Thatcher, RIP

Margaret Thatcher, Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1979-1990, affectionately known to her intimates as “Maggie” and dubbed by her leftist adversaries as the “Iron Lady”, passed away today at the age of 87 from a stroke.

We grieved this morning, remembering what she had done for the survival of western civilization. Another champion of freedom and [...]

“Defend the House” bumper sticker? No thanks.

I received a GOP fundraiser note the other day, from Sharon Day at the RNC office inside the Beltway, asking for dollars to “Defend the House”. I responded as follows, entirely fed up at the insolence expressed:

Actions speak louder than words. Neither Boehner, nor Cantor, nor McCarthy, and not even Reince Priebus has any intent [...]
